For Steve Henry, building relationships has always been just as important as delivering results. As TT Gaskets’ Regional Sales Manager for North America, he combines decades of technical expertise with a genuine passion for helping customers solve challenges.
Steve holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has spent his entire career in the gasket industry. Over the years, he has worked with cork rubber materials, flexible graphite, metal-reinforced laminated gasket materials, and serviced numerous OEMs, giving him a broad understanding of both products and customer needs.
“I’ve enjoyed seeing how the gasket industry has evolved over the years and learning how different OEMs and industries operate,” Steve says.
From engineering to sales
Although Steve began his career in engineering and testing, he transitioned into sales in 1996—a move he has never looked back on.
“What I enjoy most is meeting customers, getting to know their different personalities, and helping them solve challenges. In the end, people are people, and I always try to relate to everyone on a human level.”
Today, Steve’s focus is on growing TT Gaskets’ presence across North America by building new customer relationships and expanding the company’s reach in one of the world’s largest gasket and sealing markets.
A year of growth and new opportunities
Having been with TT Gaskets for nearly a year, Steve describes the experience as both rewarding and encouraging.
“The company and the people at TT Gaskets have been fantastic. Everyone has welcomed a foreign guy like myself with encouragement and support.”
He’s even taken on the challenge of learning a little Finnish.
“I can confirm it’s quite a difficult language to pick up,” he laughs.
For Steve, one of the company’s greatest strengths is its culture.
“The team is positive, forward-thinking, and full of professionals who genuinely strive to do their best every day.”
Looking ahead, he sees significant opportunities for TT Gaskets in North America.
“The US market offers tremendous potential. With TT Gaskets’ wide manufacturing capabilities, we’re well positioned to become a trusted supplier for many customers looking for high-quality sealing solutions.”
Life beyond the office
Outside of work, Steve enjoys staying active and spending time with the people who matter most. Playing rec soccer as an adult, he has traded the field for the pickleball court, while also enjoying biking, motorcycles, fishing, lawn care, home repair and family life.
Weekends are usually spent with his wife, visiting their parents or enjoying time with their young grandchildren—often with a game of pickleball squeezed in.
When asked to share a fun fact about himself, Steve offers a thoughtful reflection.
“I’ve been fortunate to visit many places and meet many different people throughout my career. One thing I’ve learned is that the world is filled with good people.”
And with a smile, he admits he’s currently working on one personal challenge:
“I’m trying not to be such a saver anymore. I tend to keep everything just in case I might need it someday. I know… I know, let it go!”
