Rubber Metal Gaskets are used when the gasket is required to have good compression ratio at low surface pressure. Thanks to the thin rubber layer, the need for bolt forces is not high.
This gasket type withstands high temperatures and mechanical stress like vibration and pressure shocks. Rubber metal gaskets are often used in small motors.
The gasket material consists of soft surface layers selected according to the operating conditions. The rubber grades to be used are NBR or FPM. In between the soft rubber surfaces is a metal layer that allows the seal to withstand high pressure and profile forming.
Often, the complex geometry of the gasket profile is made with a curvature, which also enables excellent seal for the unsuitable parts of the sealing.
